Working conditions and aims The aim of the The Jutland Ensemble is to promote classical music to the residents of the North-Western part of Jutland. We focus on presenting classical music to new listeners by doing school concerts and concerts in new venues.
Activity The ensemble gives between 50 and 80 concerts per season, both in Denmark and abroad, and it broadcasts regularly on Danish National Radio.
The repertoire of The Jutland Ensemble ranges from the baroque to contemporary music, and the ensemble often commissions new works from Danish composers. We regularly work with other ensembles, soloists and conductors, both national and international. In the last couple of years, we have worked with a wide range of musicians such as oboist Gordon Hunt, singer Barbara Hendricks, conductor Stefan Parkman, and Diamantensemblet.
Tours The ensemble has been touring in France, Poland and Hungary. In November 2003, they were touring Great Britain. In June 2004 the Ensemble made a tour to The Faroe Islands, and in March 2005 to Sweden and Norway in co-operation with "Rikskonserter". In August 2005 the Ensemble wastouring in Finland. On this tour, the ensemble was also in Mariehamn, Ă…land. The Ensemble was also touring Finland in November 2005 with the finnish guitarist Timo Korhonen, and in 2008 it was the official Danish representative in the celebration of Damascus as Arabic Capital of Culture.
